It is Save the Children
Norway's policy to work towards an increase in the number of children, and
girls in particular, to have their right to basic education fulfilled, and
the organization is committed to contributing to ensure that poor and disadvantaged
children also have the opportunity to realize their potential. Save the
Children Norway, SCN, will contribute to the promotion of basic education
which is inclusive for all children; which is relevant to the child's life
situation and future opportunities and challenges; and which is developmental
for the child's identity, imagination, aptitude and potential. Save the
Children Norway, through its work will promote solidarity, co-operation
and dialogue between children and adults on basic education. |

It is Save the Children
Norway's policy to monitor, support and influence endeavors to ensure that
children's rights are reflected in legislation and made a reality in children's
lives. SCN will contribute to the documentation of children's living conditions
in light of the CRC. Information and training on children's rights will
be directed at children, their parents and all who work with children or
in one way or another are responsible for their welfare. This includes the
organization's own staff and that of our partners, as well as employees
in public administration and the private sector. |

It is Save the Children
Norway's policy to co-operate with others in order to reduce the number
of children engaged in harmful work, and to promote the rights of working
children. Measures to assist the children in most urgent need have high
priority. Save the Children Norway will contribute to the improvement of
children's working conditions, educational opportunities and other supporting
measures for child workers. SCN contributes towards preventing children
from being involved in harmful work. SCN will contribute towards the development
of information, and engage in advocacy and awarness raising among families,
employers, authorities, organizations and others who have an influence on
the situation of working children. SCN emphasizes that working children
and their families shall be participants in the development of knowledge,
information and programmes concerning them. Poverty and social inequality
is taken into account in the planning and implementation of activities. |
