We are again impressed with how knowledgeable children are about themselves and their environment. Then why are we as adults so reluctant to truly listen to children? Why is it so difficult for us to let them in on our plans, to let them participate?
By accepting the UN Convention on the Rights of the Child we have no choice but to take the responsibility to assist and support children in their total development.

Save the Children Norway (Redd Barna) was established in 1946 as a voluntary humanitarian membership organization. The organization observes neutrality in matters of politics and religion.

At present Save the Children has supported the government of Lao PDR's educational sector since the early 1980's, and in January 1997 it opened a regional office in Vientiane in order to more efficiently monitor and support children in the country.
